About Us

This project is managed by Global Link and funded by the Arts Council and North West Global Education Network to develop the capacity of artists with roots in the global south (i.e. Africa, Asia and Latin America) to work in schools and the wider community.

Training for Artists

Since 2009, originally in colloboration with the North West Global Education Network, Global Link has been developing links with artists from around the North West and delivering training sessions for those wishing to bring their art into schools and increase their understanding of the global dimension in education. Though working with artists from all backgrounds, the primary focus of the project is to encourage artists from or with links to the Global South (Africa, Asia and Latin America), to engage with schools and share their skills and experience.

If you are an artist working in the North West and would like more information about the project, click here to send us an email.

Alternatively, please download our application form and give us some information about yourself and your work.

Funding for Schools

Artists in Schools

In 2011, the second phase of the project got underway. Schools from around the North West could apply for funding towards a global artist to come to their school to enhance the arts and global dimension to pupils.

We hope to apply for further funding in the future to run more workshops in schools. Please check our funding page for updates.

And if you would like to know more about the artists involved, take a look at our artist directory.
