DGSP Starter Grant to fund Global Education for schools
16/11/2009
DFID Global School Partnerships introduces new Starter Grants to encourage new school partnerships that promote global learning through the curriculum.
One thousand grants of £250 each will be distributed over the next three years to help UK schools explore the possibility of embarking on a global partnership. The grant is available at the beginning of a school’s partnership journey to support them in finding a partner.
The new funding provides 1,000 £250 starter grants for teachers to develop global education within the curriculum and establish school partnerships with developing countries. They are funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and can be used towards lesson cover and travel costs for teachers to attend information workshops and also in-school training to build development education expertise.
The Starter Grants will fund eligible activities and will be available throughout the year to schools that do not already have a DFID Global School Partnership.
