The Island
| Description | |||
|
Powerfully illustrated and with a simple text, this book tells the story of an island community’s hostility to the stranger who is washed up on their shores. Very clear parallels to treatment of refugees and asylum seekers. Teachers have commented that you could get a whole term’s work from this book. Share the book with the group. If you have a large group it would be worth scanning and displaying the pages on the screen, as although the pages are large the pictures are full of subtle detail. |
