Global Link and the Local Community
In the past Global Link has run global youth work sessions with trainee youth and community workers at St. Martin's College in Lancaster and run interactive workshops on Fairtrade and refugees with local youth groups.
Between 1997 and 2003 Global Link co-ordinated public events in Lancaster to celebrate One World Week, and between 2001 - 2004 we co-ordinated events for Refugee Week, Human Rights Day and Fairtrade Fortnight. These have included talks, workshops, food, exhibitions, displays and stalls. In 2004, with the support of a steering group, we co-ordinated Lancaster and District's first Diversity Festival.

-
Slave Trade Town Trail
Produced in collaboration with the City and Maritime Museums and Dallas Road primary school, the Town Trail guides residents and visitors around historic sites in Lancaster and helps increase understanding of the role of the slave trade in the development of the city.
-
Radio for Change
Run from 2003 to 2006, Radio for Change worked with youth, community and school groups to make short radio programmes broadcast by Radio Lancashire. All of the groups hoped to make a change - to change people's minds, or to encourage listeners to change what they do.
-
Local Fairtrade
Over several years we worked with the Fairtrade steering group to enable Lancaster and District to become a Fairtrade District in March 2004. Click this section to find out about the Lancaster and Morecambe Fairtrade District.
